sport direct co ukIf you are buying a new sports car, you may have the opportunity to select its cover from the ever-growing palette provided by auto manufacturers. Kept within reason, competitive sports are not all bad for kids, especially those 11 and older; kids involved in sports usually do better in school, are less likely to abuse drugs or alcohol, have good relationships with peers and have better health overall. Help your child enjoy the benefits and fun by allowing her to explore various sports while monitoring her health and stress levels, and by staying realistic in expectations, keeping an eye on coaches' demands and talking to your child about her enjoyment of the game rather than about winning.

For an activity to truly be considered a sport, it must involve competition against others. In competitive cheerleading, squads compete against each other in a head-to-head fashion and are evaluated according to a standardized set of rules. This point is the real bone of contention when it comes to questions about cheerleading as a sport. Many squads still primarily exist to support other sports teams. Moreover, there is no one overarching governing body or set of rules for the sport direct stare miasto of cheerleading; instead there are several independent organizations that sponsor their own championship tournament. Nonetheless, members of each of these organizations do compete against each other in scheduled, organized matches, just as in other sports.

The fact that it's national news when an athlete uses an anti-LGBT slur makes most seasoned activists take pause in celebration and, in some cases, revelation over how far we have come. Mainstream media are finally recognizing and challenging homophobia in sport, which is an incredible advancement resulting from decades of courageous work. But this kind of improvement simply does not exist in the battle against sexism. How often does Yahoo! or ESPN cover stories where an athlete mumbles a sexist slur on air? And further, how often do we notice it and rally for an apology? Not often enough.sport direct

The media and marketing industries perpetuate this problem. Sexist advertising, offensive beer commercials, and the like are nothing new to sporting events, but media coverage of sports encourages gender stereotypes therein with much more subtle and insidious practices. A common example: Post-competition coverage of sporting events look very different depending on the genders of the athletes featured. In women's sports, a newly medaled athlete is often shown rejoicing with her spouse or children. Seeking support and celebration from her family, she is represented in relation to them as "girlfriend", "wife," or "mother." The same footage of male athletes in winning moments shows them jolting their trophies into the sky and celebrating with teammates. They are depicted in relation to their sport as iconic victors for their audience and leaders for their teams.sportisimo

Swimming is the only sport where you get YELLED AT for breathing. also, swimming is the sport that required the highest level of confidence and mental strength. if you are not mentally as well as physically strong enough, i can promise you that you would not make it through 30 minutes out of my 3 hour practice.
